Sounds Like:
Helmet, Chevelle, Quicksand
Formed in Cleveland, Ohio; Disengage plays a mixture of heavy music that combines the styles of rock and hardcore with a little punk attitude thrown in. It’s a shame they flew under the radar because there is a world of talent on this album. Lead singer Jason Byers’ vocals remind us of Quicksand, with his upfront accurate punkish style.

As far as the music goes, the percussion is top notch, crisp and is the driving force on the album. The guitars and bass just follow, giving us a titan of an album. The songwriting is solid and is not repetitive, "Cover the Globe" highlights this, with the vocals being dominate, showing he can carry a song. "Love Letter Rough Draft" shows how they can mix it up with great hooks and change-ups.

Overall, if you like the heaviness of Helmet, the style of Chevelle, and the edge Quicksand, this is for you. Just to be clear, they are not a rip-off of these artists, they have their own style. So do yourself a favor and pick it up.
