Psychedelic rock
Sounds Like:
The Doors, Hawkwind, Jimi Hendrix
Some good hooks and moments of “grooviness”, but as a whole WBR puts forth a lackluster effort. We like WBR’s euphoric feel at times, but the album never really takes any risks nor does it delve very deep into the psychedelic genre that it purports. Lead singer David Hayfield provides a monotone less than inspiring vocal style that could use more muffle, distortion and punch. In addition, the songwriting is a bit superficial and struggles to conjure up much of any wandering thoughts. The guitar-work has some nice moments and is probably the highlight of the album with some tight licks.

Creature of Curiosity may be better suited for fans of late 60's, early 70's rock psychedelia. There are major gaps that could cold be filled nicely with some cowbell (not to get pop culture on you). "Milk" and "The River Will Rise" are probably the strongest tunes, featuring some deep moments of euphoria.

WBR is a band with potential that will hopefully take some more risks on their next undertaking. Currently however they stray not very far from the middle of the road.

Standout Track: The River Will Rise
