Interestingly enough April Sun have released a follow-up EP to their instrumental album entitledGalaxy Travel Guide. What would seem somewhat an ass-backwards move in that the follow-up EP contains vocals, its quite the slick move. Essentially get your fan base to dig the atmospheric space psych rock and follow-up a few months later with very well thought out and melodic vocals. Brilliant we say! Hailing from Moscow the Russian duo mightily impress with a refreshing succinct 5 track EP entitled Galaxy Travel Sung.

April Sun infuses lofty glam-gothlike vocals to five vibrant hand-picked tracks from their previous album. The opener "Supersonic" is a sharp mystical journey that features a meandering saxophone that really ropes us in. The psychedelic synths provide the backbone for what is an entertaining drippiness to follow.

Track Listing:
1. Supersonic (3:39)
2. Horizons (4:18)
3. Be The Man (4:59))
4. Trippin’ (2:43)
5. Day ’n Night (4:07)

If we only had a buck, what track would we recommend downloading?
Well that is a silly question in that this is a ‘name your price’ EP on BandCamp. Regardless, we would say the highlight of the album is surprisingly the shortest track ‘Tripping’’. We absolutely love the hypnotic mood of this track as the synths weave between the lazy ho hum vocals. Very cool track. A close second is the closer "Day ’n Night," where stellar harmonica take this one home.

What adult beverage do we recommend while listening to with this album?
No question, The Cosmonaut
Ingredients:
2 parts Grey Goose La Poire
1 part Fresh lime juice
3/4 parts Ginger liqueur
1 dash of Cardamom Bitters

Instructions:
Place a large sphere of ice in the bottom of a spherical glass.
Add the ingredients to a cocktail shaker.
Shake and pour over the top of ice in glass.
Garnish with space-candy dusted grape.

What are our final thoughts on Galaxy Travel Sun?
We appreciate the diversity that ‘Galaxy Travel Sung’ delivers. Having had the full-length instrumental in heavy rotation previously, the EP adds some needed spunk. While the vocals do strain a bit and periodically fall off-key, overall its a positive addition. We recommend you kick-in some dough on BandCamp to appreciate the splendor these gents bring. Well worth your time and something a little different for your collection. - 11/14/2016
