Genre:
Heavy psyche rock

Cosmic Fall from Berlin, Germany could be one of the most overlooked new acts to hit the psychedelic rock scene in the past year. Having released a terrific debut in 2016 titled First Fall, we are now graced with Kick Out The Jams. This one contains seven tracks running at 92 minutes of glorious jams. The three-piece heavy psychedelic machine consists of Daniel Sax (Drums), Mathias Rosmann (Guitar) and Klaus Friedrich (Bass); and together these guys have forged one hell of a psychedelic stoner delight. For those who love their rock with a spacious psychedelic stoned vibe and don’t mind lengthy tracks that go through various forms of exploration, we have no doubt this is for you.

What are the highlights of the album?
The entire album is a highlight. To be honest, we don’t know the song names when listening, just let the heavy, spacious psyche music wash over you. It’s an easy album to get lost in. The very first track "Saturn Highway," is a great indication of what you are about to embark on. We have no doubt this track will  take the listener on a trippy voyage of psychedelic wonderment.

How is the production value?
This album was self-produced by Cosmic Fall and is excellent, each band member plays to their strengths and nothing gets overshadowed or overdone. It’s a well-balanced album and feels like every note comes natural to them.

Does the album art reflect the music?
Yes, the purple hue of the painting created by band member Klaus Friedrich is very intriguing and looks good when it pops up on your playlist.

What adult beverage to enjoy while listening to this album?
Enjoy the delicious German brew Franziskaner Hefe-Weisse by Spaten-Franziskaner-Bräu. At 5.00% ABV, this is one of the best beers around. Its smooth with hints of orange, apricots and layered with very faint Banana undertones. Franziskaner is an absolutely pleasant beer and is the perfect complement to this album.

What are our final thoughts on Kick Out The Jams?
Bands like Cosmic Fall don’t come along every day. Sure there are a ton of instrumental rock bands out there, but not many have the natural instinct to just go out there and just throw down some improved jams, just look at the song lengths below. It feels as if they had the song structures written, but said fuck it, and expand on every song and see where it takes them. So, just sit back and soak this album up or take on a road trip, wherever the day takes you will be enhanced by Cosmic Fall. - 5/16/2017
