Poland’s Stonerror’s third release Widow In Black features a comforting blend of stoner and psychedelia. The album really shifts in high gear once "Tumbleweed" hits. Not to say the first two tracks are bad, its just that the inhibition curtain appears to lift further and a carefree euphoria takes over. The album ends with a fucking wallop as the ingenious instrumental of "Asteroid Fields" bleeds into "Mothership" and ‘Revelation’ two absolute sonic masterpieces.

Track Listing:
1. Ships on Fire (3:47)
2. Widow in Black (3:02)
3. Tumbleweed (5:05)
4. Kings of the Stone Age (3:50)
5. Domesday Call (4:09)
6- Hellfilre (6:51)
7. Asteroid Fields (4:38)
8. Mothership (5:45)
9. Revelation (7:38)

Standout Track:
"Mothership" embodies the pinnacle of Widow In Black. God sent melodies wrap the listener in a cocoon of sonic swirl. The contrast on this track is impressive as the band takes a deep dive into darkness. “where is the love? where is the mothership? it’s gone, no gods above floating across the dark alone”

Adult Beverage Pairing:
No better accompaniment than a powerful Polish beer to blend with the Widow In Black. Grab a Fortuna Komes Porter Baltycki brewed by Brewer Fortuna in Miloslaw Poland. The clear black body, not transparent but smooth as fuck. Aroma is filled with coffee and dark chocolate malt. Subtle hinds of dark fruit throughout. This is a good example of an European baltic porter with roast and cocoa. Highly recommended for porter and Stonerror enthusiasts. ABV: 9 %

Final Thoughts:
We often scratch our head when bands decide to lead with the weakest tracks on the album. Today’s fleeting listener under the digital age unfortunately spends less time diving into albums. A mediocre start can lose key prospective fans. Well that is what we are here for. ‘Widow In Black’ is worth your patience as the album gains tremendous momentum blossoming into one of the strongest stoner rock plays of the year. Stonerror is at its best when they meander through carefree jams. Pick this one up as it will add some fresh stoner blood to your collection.
