Stoner rock
Sounds Like:
Queens of the Stoneage, Truckfighters
Thursday, February 21, 2019
If you’re like us, you are constantly on the hunt to discover untapped new heaviness. Sundrifter from Boston will fill this need as their latest album Visitations hits on all levels. Sundrifter display a unique brand of stoner and spaced-out rock that will stand out in your collection. The one element that draws us in is the unusual vocal style of singer/guitarist Craig Peura, what a talent. This guy has a terrific range and can hold one hell of a note. Think a soft spoken Josh Homme meets Robert Lowe of Solitude Aeturnus fame. At first listen, we thought the vocals may be over used, but with each passing rotation, we have grown to appreciate his vocal prowess. As for the music, these guys have a tremendous spacious stoner vibe. Visitations has a drifting heaviness that can be rivaled with the likes of bands like Truckfighters. This album is a must have for all fans of the heavy and being released through Small Stone Records, Sundrifter will pick up momentum and become a staple in your collection.

Standout Track(s)
We were diggin the album upon first rotation, but it all came together when we heard ”Sky Peoples Son” for the first time. The stoner psych flow is tremendous coupled by the tripping vocals, this track has it all. The last track, “I Want to Leave” is an acoustic space journey with distant vocals that is so cathartic, a great closing tune

Adult Beverage Pairing
We must go with Doppleganger by one of our favorite breweries, Tree House in Massachusetts. This 8% Double IPA is one of the smoothest fresh tropical fruit brews we have ever had. Good luck getting your hands on this, as the distribution is very limited. Perhaps a trip to Boston when Sundrifter is performing and make a pit stop to Tree House.
