Punk, Math Rock

High-end math rock coupled with punk attitude is what Missouri natives The R6 Implant bring to the table. With influences stemming from 90s math and punk, The R6 Implant deliver a pure and genuine sound that is hard to find today. Vocalist Scott Randal displays a raw punkish in-your-face style that goes from soft spoken word to intense hardcore, fucking impressive. The music is fantastic on this album, as it follows the vocals to a tee.  The foursome show great chemistry with constant rhythmic change ups and a love for heavy math rock. There are no weak moments to be found, the songs are perfect length, nothing longer than 4:30 minutes. They get right to the point, no filler crap. Fans of math, punk and hardcore will love this album as it will add some unusual heaviness to your collection.

Standout Track(s)
Tough call, for starters we may go with “Dead Peasant Insurance”. This track displays a wealth of variety, the cymbal and stick work from drummer Shawn O’Conner is fantastic. At times we think they stumbled on a new genre on this track, we hear a touch of math death metal, very unique.

Adult Beverage Pairing
Lets go with a brew local to The R6 Implant. Grab some Cast Iron Oatmeal Brown by 4 Hands Brewery St. Louis. This 5.5% ABV Brown Ale has a wealth of chocolate malt and roasted barley to give the beer a cast iron backbone. The oatmeal pours a dark mahogany with aromas of chocolate and coffee.
