Don’t let the goofy name fool you. The Swamp Creatures throw down some textured and visceral tracks on their debut EP. Loaded with swamp fuzz the Hungarian foursome impress us with their natural contrast between heavy and beauty. The harmonies on this EP are down right inspiring. While the vocals are what distinguish this band, the layered fretwork variations and subtle use of synth blend so well. We find strength with each listen as we become more and more engrossed with Insights’  23 minutes of freshness.

Track Listing:
1. Slaves of Eternity (5:48)
2. Yamada (6:47)
3. Submarine (4:25)
4. Burning Woods (6:38)

What is the standout track?
We went back-and-forth between the opener and the closer. "Burning Woods" is the most spacial and euphoric of the four tracks but comes in a close second to the heavier opener "Slaves of Eternity". So much depth and introspective with this track.

Adult Beverage Pairing
We recommend the craft lager Keserű Méz from the Fóti Brewery. 6% ABV strong, unfiltered, unpasteurized lager. It is bright yellow and opaque, with a thick white head floral-honey sweetness, with melon and mango notes. Keserű Méz” is a genuine specialty from Fót – north of Budapest.

Final Thoughts:
The four tracks on Insights are quite varied and really give you a sense of the the band’s impressive range. This is quite a fucking teaser as the 23 minutes of euphoria have us yearning for more. We highly recommend picking this one up and keeping a close pulse on the happenings of The Swamp Creatures. You never know if a name change is on the horizon so keep close... we certainly will.
