There is something beautiful and expansive when metal and wind instruments collide. Twisted Mist hailing from Reims, France welcome in their second full-length album Le Brame, which is primarily instrumental (with occasional chants via "Ballade de Villon a S’amye," etc.). What we like about this album it avoids one of our biggest problems within the folk-metal genre, awful over-the-top lyrics. The soothing mix of heavy and the sanguine work well together. Throughout the album the heavy kicks-in to on infusion of muddied production. While the wind instruments are crisp the overall production has some difficulty handling the heavy. We do very much enjoy the diverse percussion work throughout the album.

Track Listing:
1. L'Enfant qui Criait au Loup 05:16
2. Le Lierre et le Chêne 05:30
3. Il Reconnaîtra les Siens 05:38
4. Ballade de Villon à S'amye 04:37
5. De ces Os Naîtront des Cendres 04:12
6. A Bride Abbatue 04:31
7. Sur l'Autre Rive 03:52
8. Absoudre un Sans Aveu 05:54

Standout Track:
"II Reconnitra Les Siens" is one hell of a track. Filled with contrast and some of the more complex flute melodies on the album. The percussion also contains the some impressive rhythms handled well within the production limitations. The seventh track "Sur L’Autre Rive" also peaked our interest with more soothing harp, string and norweigan interludes.

Adult Beverage Pairing:
We highly recommend the Screaming Viking accompany ‘Le Brame’. Ingredients include:

2 ounces Bacardi light rum
1 handful Fresh chopped cucumber
1 handful Fresh cut lime
1 tablespoon 365 Organic Agave Nectar
12 sprigs Fresh mint
1 pinch Kosher rock salt
4-6 ounces Soda H20
4-6 ounces Shaved ice

In a pint glass gently muddle Cucumber & Limes to release inner goodness. Add Mint & Agave Nectar with a splash of Soda water and gently muddle. Fill glass with shaved ice, add rum and gently stir. Garnish with fresh mint sprig and cucumber wheel dusted w/a pinch of rock salt and enjoy with some Twisted Mist.
