With the oversaturated THC market at hand, we take a strenuous filter through all the buds and flops to bring the interesting to the table. Weeed is no exception. While they are a search engine optimization nightmare with their intentional misspelling, our seekers stumbled and kept in heavy rotation. The prolific foursome hailing from Portland Oregon deliver their sixth album in This. Spanning 42 minutes the four tracks are feverishly entertaining and deliver unique angles of contrast and psychedelia. Splashes of ambient looping, double drum sets, flute, and vocal harmony.

Standout track(s)
While all four tracks entertain, the title track This takes first prize for its wild introductory pauses and meandering tangled journey of quality fretwork and imagery. "Haze II" poses a close second and is the heaviest of the lot. "Our Song" does a wonderful job of displaying the wild vocal range Weeed possesses. "Wave" is perhaps the most ethereal and relaxing of the bunch.

Alcohol Pairing:
Hailing from Portland Oregon, StormBreaker Brewing’s Triple Double is a wonderful compliment to the catchy heavy of Weeed.8.5% ABV bitter batch with sugary sweetness. Heavy citrus fruits along with weeed and pine.

Lasting Impression
Weeed delivers a pasty sticky heavy. A heavy that has struck a chord with our team in recognition of some very unique tangents of catchy sound. While their name may draw you into the he smoke filled pool of other Mary Jane bands, Weeed feature an aura of psychedelic experimentation that is unlike many of the bands we preview. Thus This gets a well-deserved editor’s pick in our book. In the coming months, we look forward to immersing ourselves in their other five works. We loook forward to the backlog of fun.
